A young boy contacted me to make him a dozen cupcakes for his girlfriend. It’s their monthsary and he wanted me to ship it to Quezon(southern part of Luzon,a province). At first I was kinda hesitant mainly because I’m not sure if it will survive while in transit but nevertheless my gut told me to just go for it. Basically, he showed me a photo of the design he wanted me to replicate but of course I don’t want to exactly make a copy of it so I made it with my own style…

Housewarming

A good friend of mine asked me to make a cake for their housewarming/car blessing event. She gave me the freedom to design the cake with the instruction that it’s a sheet cake and enough for 30 persons and the cake would be my signature 3 layer chocolate with a brownie layer in the middle and vanilla butter buttercream frostin. I decided to make a 12×16 cake…

And She Turned 12

Last year I had the honor of making a birthday cake for my dearest friend’s little sister. It was such a hit that a year later she still talks about it. So, once again my friend asked me to make her a cake…the little girl is now 12! Whoa…time do fly so fast! I remember it was exactly that age when my friend and I first met. It was a wonderful meeting that led to a lifetime of friendship. There were some point in time when we lost communication but eventually found our way back and it something that I’m truly grateful for. It made me realized that there are things that can never be broken be it time or circumstances. True friendship will always  prevail.
Anyways, back to the cake. This year her sister asked me to make a cake that would represent two things that she’s currently going gaga over for…actually the little lady even sent me instructions of what she liked so thank heavens I don’t have to crack my brain really hard to think of what to do. All I have to do is to translate her ideas into cake. Without further ado, here’s how I made the cake…

After the party, my friend sent me a message…

One of the things I received last Christmas was this book…

It brought back memories of 7th grade…oh yes! Back when we just moved to a new place and for some reason an oven is not on the list of my dad’s shopping list…he bought a microwave oven instead. I had to bake some cookies for a school project and had no choice but to use the microwave.Don’t really remember what happened but it sure sparked my interest in baking and cooking.
Anyways, I thought I try making a cake and see what happens…

FEAST OF 2014 RECAP

For most part of the holiday season, I was at the kitchen multi-tasking the oven and the stove. I was given more tasks this time as my dad was starting to feel his “age” as he said. Glad that the party went well. Everyone went home full and happy. Funny busy as I was, still a relative did not spare me from the question ….”When will you marry?”  Oh relative! Of all the things we can converse about why must you always be interested in ones personal…er… lovelife or the lack thereof ?! Hehehe
